Hi,
my name is terry. I first became interested in radio about 40 years ago. My
granddad was a ham as was a couple of uncles. I took my license in the early
80s to receive my first call sign which was g1ffh. I had a few good years working
vhf before going quiet for a number of years.
I
became interested again about august 2002 when i visited my friend shane (M3PUK)
and sat in front of his Kenwood radio. Since then i have re-kindled my love
of Morse and with the help of Brian (G4OOC) and Julie (M0JBW) I took my 12 wpm
Morse test at the Wakefield rally along with Julie in feb 2003, we both passed.
I
have received my new call sign and look forward to workingHF in the near future.
If you hear me on CW be gentle (12 wpm) I need to sort out my antenna's before
I can use the full spectrum.
I
have now been married to Sheila (M3SQK), also a ham for 30 years, and have four
grown up children and three cracking grandchildren. Two to my oldest daughter
Samantha (dale & charlotte) and one to Michelle (M3MLF) my youngest daughter
who is also a ham. This is her first child and another beautiful granddaughter
(kaitlin Louise) born Aug 04. Her boyfriend James is also a ham (M0JUK).
I am a member of the north Wakefield Amateur Radio Club (G4NOK) at East Ardsley.
My
HF radio is a Kenwood TS-870 and my microphone is a Kelux (chromed) and a Vibroplex
Iambic Delux (chromed). Both very nice iambic keys. I use a vertical multiband
and of course a G5RV as well as a multiband 2 element beam.
My
VHF/ UHF station comprises of a Yaesu FT-726 tri-band radio (6m 2m & 70cm).
A triband vertical and a 16 element crossed Yagi beam & a Yaesu MD-1 base
microphone. I use a dual band Icom mobile radio in my Mitsubishi Shogun with
a dual band 5/8th mobile whip.
Well
that's about it for now. all the best and thanks for looking me up. Cheers M0JQK.
